The Society of Telecommunications Consultants is dedicated to the professional growth and enrichment of its members, who practice in all fields of telecommunications, including academia and law, with most concentrating in communications networking. STC consultants have access to a variety of professional resources, including the pooled project expertise of fellow members, as well as expedited access to the executive levels of dozens of industry vendors through liaison representatives who serve on the STC’s Vendor Advisory Council. Numerous additional benefits are available exclusively to STC members, including a special errors & omissions insurance program tailored to accommodate the wide variety of advisory services offered by members. Purpose The STC's broad mission is to serve the telecommunications industry as well as its members. Through twice-yearly conferences, the STC offers an open forum for continued education and professional development, along with opportunities for general networking and project collaboration. In addition, STC headquarters offers the news media, as well as end users, the ability to post questions or specific needs for immediate e-mail distribution to consultant members. Finally, the STC actively encourages students and those consultants who do not yet meet all membership requirements to enable themselves to accelerate their professional growth by applying for admission as Associate Members. Membership Independent telecommunications and information technology consultants anywhere in the world are welcome to apply for membership in the STC. Consultant membership is available for individuals only. All applications are reviewed by a membership committee consisting of current STC consultant members. Those individuals whose applications meet the experience requirements and whose project work demonstrates their adherence to the STC’s ethical principles are eligible for admission as full consultant members. Those applicants who do not meet these requirements may be offered membership as Associate or Affiliate Members, as appropriate. Full membership application information is available by visiting the STC’s home page at www.stcconsultants.org and clicking the “Membership Information” button. Ethics All consultant members are required, as an ongoing condition of membership, to affirm their compliance with the STC’s Code of Ethics at the end of each calendar year. The ten statements in the STC Code of Ethics affirm the commitment of each STC member to principles of delivering honest, unbiased and fully independent consulting services. The full Code of Ethics may also be viewed on the STC’s web site.
