We’re headed back to Colorado for the 2005 Fall Conference. After a very successful conference in Westminster last year, and an offer from the Westin that was hard to beat, we’ll be convening in October for another few days of learning and networking. The Westin sits just east of Boulder with a great view of the Rockies in one direction, and a nice view of St. Louis across the Great American Prairie in the other.
The Dates
The conference will begin on Wednesday October 5 with the Nate Mire Memorial Gold Tournament and run through Saturday October 8.
The Format
We’re trying something new this year . . . The conference has been expanded to a full three days, with VAC sessions and added oppor-tunities for networking mixed into the regular programming. Also, we’ve responded to your comments from past conferences that there wasn’t enough time to sit with colleagues and VAC members and network, so we’re building that into the schedule. This should be a great time to expand your network of business contacts and friendships.
The Program
We’ve got a full mix of topics scheduled for Westminster this year. Including practice management, technical, regulatory, and product sessions. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Greg Sopkin, Chairman of the Colorado PUC. Mr. Sopkin will speak on the regulatory challenges being faced by the states in an age of cable, electric utility, and satellite providers all offering voice services

to residential and business customers.

There will be two VAC panel discussions; one covering the different approaches taken towards providing IP telephony, and the other covering the evolution of the call center from a CPE to a networked based architecture. These promise to be informative and (perhaps) controversial.

In addition, there will be a double session on E-911 issues: What are the regulatory issues

and requirements and what are the technical challenges in meeting them? How will E-911 be provided to IP users and wireless users?

You will attend sessions on video, web, and audio conferencing, on increasing your skills in landing new business, on the organizational challenges in successfully implement-ing a VoIP or IPT project
