Overview
The Society of Telecommunications Consultants (STC) is a not-for-profit organization made up of independent telecommunications consultants. The STC was created to provide a self-regulating body, for what was at the time, an industry with a number of less-than professional individuals. STC Consultant members follow a strict Code of Ethics, and have at least a minimum of three years experience in the industry. A rigorous application process as well as a continual review of a member's status assures that consultant members are independent, and not affiliated with any particular company or product. Because of this independent and unbiased rule, clients of STC consultants know that they are receiving what is best for them. The Vendor Advisory Council (VAC) members are individuals who do represent specific products or services and looked upon as experts with whom consultants can receive advice and support as needed. They provide another educational avenue.

A Recognized Force

The STC is a recognized force in the telecommunications industry. Membership is becoming an important consideration in the success and credibility of a telecommunications consultant. STC members and the firms with which they are affiliated represent over 1,000 professionals who recommend the purchase of more than $1 billion of telecommunications equipment and services each year.

Vendor Advisory Council

The STC Vendor Advisory Council is an important arm of the Society. An independent group, made up of representatives of major suppliers of telecommunications services and equipment, the Council supports STC members with up-to-date information on their products and services.

They provide specially edited technical reports and manuals that give STC members valuable insight into product design, specifications, feature/benefit relationships and client applications.

Each Vendor Council member designates representatives to assist STC members in obtaining pertinent information quickly, and to speed up solving client problems.
