VAC enjoy a unique opportunity to meet with individual consultants
from across the USA and Canada at the STC semi-annual conferences.
At the conferences, VAC members develop relationships that form
the foundation of on-going business ventures. Vendor members have
learned that these face to face meetings often result in the discovery
of mutual opportunities. Where else can you spend four to five days
of intense marketing time with a large number of focused consultants
so cost effectively?
VAC members
and their respective companies are listed in the STC VAC directory
which is widely distributed within the consulting industry and among
prospective purchasers. The VAC directory with its description of
each company's products and services serves as a valuable tool for
STC consultants. It is the first place they look for options and
support when preparing a proposal or an RFP.
The STC Consultant
Directory is sorted by state and includes a biography of each member
with information relating to areas of expertise and vertical market
specialties. The descriptions are valuable in developing targeted
marketing plans and stratified marketing programs.
Conferences
Networking is
only one reason to attend STC conferences. While there, you can
attend educational sessions that will broaden your knowledge of
the telecommunications industry and familiarize you with the issues
and concerns facing telecommunications consultants. Many VAC members
attend meeting sessions that are focused on consultant practice
management and practice improvement. Knowledge of how consultants
do business provides VAC members with the understanding and insight
necessary for developing effective marketing programs.
There are also
conference sessions designed specifically for our VAC members. Workshops
providing statistics on consultant penetration in various business
segments and information with regard to consultant support needs,
are regular features of STC conferences.
During the formal
"Networking Sessions", VAC members are highlighted and
are encouraged to conduct demonstrations for the consultant audience.
It is an opportunity to promote and present timely information and
application ideas, as well.
Conference planning
and agenda development are a joint effort between the consultants
and VAC. Our VAC members are first on the list to receive our "Call
For Speakers" and to provide expert presenters from their companies.

Special Services
All STC members
have access to legal counsel retained by and paid for by STC dues.
The law firm selected is expert in telecommunications matters keeping
STC members abreast of legislative activities, FCC actions and other
governmental measures that have influence on the telecommunications
industry.
Good Business
The STC provides
an expert forum for testing or benchmarking products before your
company makes expensive commitments. The consultant members gain
a wide breadth of expertise in serving their many clients. Their
counsel can be invaluable to your company's development and marketing
efforts. Consultant members can be queried informally at conferences
or by phone, or engaged as your first line of Market Research.
The STC is active
in many industry events and conferences, sponsoring Open Houses
and other educational forums. Facilitators and planners of these
events turn first to our VAC member companies when looking for qualified
speakers.
The STC is the
only membership organization on a national basis devoted to telecommunications
consulting. Being a part of the STC allows the VAC members an opportunity
to help shape our industry and the business of consulting within
it. By being a part of and providing support to the STC, VAC members
endorse the STC code of ethics, thereby encouraging the highest
level of professionalism and fairness in the telecommunications
consulting industry.
